The court ordered the store to pay the producer roughly 93,000 EUR with added penalty rates as well as legal costs. The case was filed by the Spanish producer following a period of non-payment by the store which argued in its defense that the claims put forth by the producer were unsubstantiated. Additionally, the store argued that it had received faulty items resulting in counterclaims against the producer. Hörður Helgi Helgason, District Court Attorney and partner at Landslög acted as the Spanish producer’s attorney before the district court.
